I’m getting made-to-measure curtains for home use in the bedroom and the tailor asked whether I want lining. It adds to the cost, so I’m trying to work out if it’s worth it. From what I understand, lining gives the fabric weight so the folds hang evenly, protects it from sun fading, and helps with privacy. Blackout lining sounds sensible for a bedroom, but I’m not sure about the living room. Has anyone compared lined and unlined curtains side by side? I’d like to know if the difference is noticeable. I found that Kingdom of Curtains does free doorstep measurement and consultation across Delhi NCR, so I might ask them to show lining samples. Any experience would help.
